After years of working for large scale companies, he very consciously chose the smaller – lean & mean – Transform Data: on 1 August this year, Maikel Dorssers started as our new Business Development Manager.
Maikel comes from ISP Next in Den Bosch where, as a sales executive, he was mainly involved in digitalisation for SME+ such as digitalisation of invoices and spend analytics. Customers included large healthcare institutions, law firms and finance companies. A client portfolio similar to Transform Data’s, he says: “I speak the language of those clients and industries. And that’s important, because you have to level with your client and be able to connect at his level. In the field of digitalisation, of course, there is constant development. You never stop learning.”
Just as important as levelling with customers is that as sales, you have to be able to trust your team, Maikel stresses: “What I sell to customers, my colleagues have to deliver.” That confidence is certainly there with his new employer. “I naturally made extensive enquiries before we started talking. Transform Data is highly regarded and has many satisfied customers.”
Opting for a smaller-scale company also means a more family-like vibe: “That vibe felt okay right away. There is a relaxed, family atmosphere here, even though the setting is extremely professional. That’s very pleasant, atmosphere is important to me. Great things happen when cooperation is smooth. And lunch is delicious, with fresh pasta and (on Friday afternoons) a glass of wine to go with it.”
